Informal Atmosphere

E\PCOS conference brings the phase change community together to discuss  the latest technology achievements and their possible new application areas. An important goal of E\PCOS is to provide an informal atmosphere to encourage interactions among participants and provide fruitful interactions between technology leaders of  industry and academia

Since 2001

E\PCOS started in 2001 as a workshop at the mount Säntis in Switzerland for the researchers in the field of phase-change materials and their applications.  It is increasingly well-known for its high class presentations and its unique style which facilitates relationship building among the attendees.

Recent Development

In the last two decades, the phase-change technology has enabled the realization of rewriteable optical disc memories such as DVDs and BDs (Blu-ray Discs), and in recent years, it has been rapidly expanding to the field of solid-state non-volatile electric memories, low-dimensional electronics, topological insulators, multiferroics and so on.
